Every rank costs 20 crests of the track's own tier. Six ranks per track, and the tracks overlap: a Champion 5/6 and a Hero 1/6 are both 305.

Crafted gear lands at the quality the crafter reaches, Q1 to Q5, and then upgrades along its own track like anything else. A Spark of Tides is the weekly-ish gate; the crest bill is paid once, at craft time, on top of the reagents.
